The Department of Chemistry has 8 well-qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members with rich academic and research experience. Chemistry is a science capable of being aligned with any branch of study. The core issues of the present times, population, food, water, environment and power are all closely related to Chemistry. Chemistry has been rightly recognized as a core subject and Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College has a strong band of dedicated chemists who cater to the needs of all branches of Engineering and Technology
Programme offered by the Department:
Engineering Chemistry as a basic science is offered in the first year to all Engineering and Technology disciplines. The faculty also handles Environmental Science and Engineering for IInd Semester CSE, EEE, CIVIL, Mechanical Engineering and IVth Semester ECE and IT Students as per Anna University Regulation-2017.
Head of the Department
Dr. S. Nasrin Banu / Assistant Professor currently serves as the Head of the Department of Chemistry. She has 14 years of teaching experience. She has published 6 papers in national and international journals. Her areas of interest include Material Science, Nanochemistry and Pollution Research.

The Department of Chemistry has a well equipped lab to cater to the needs of the students. The department provides individual instruments for all the students and the equipment available in the department is more than that required as per Anna University Syllabus. The Chemistry laboratory can accommodate 60 students at a time. Separate space is also available for research and project activities. The lab is equipped with instruments, equipments and other consumables as per the Anna University norms.

The Department of Chemistry has a well-equipped library to cater to the needs of the faculty with more than 154 books. Besides the department library, a large number of books and journals are available in Chemistry and Environmental Studies in the college Central library.
