The Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AI & DS) is a four-year full-time undergraduate programme offered by Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College, Chennai. The programme is approved by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Anna University, Chennai.
The AI & DS programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to address complex, real-world problems such as web search, speech recognition, and machine translation through the application of advanced mathematical and computational tools. It provides a comprehensive overview of the principles, practices, and methodologies of Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing problem-solving, knowledge representation, reasoning, and learning techniques.
This programme offers advanced learning opportunities in emerging technologies, focusing on Artificial
Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Data Science. Artificial Intelligence involves
simulating human intelligence through machines capable of performing tasks that typically require
human cognition, while Data Science integrates analytical and computational approaches to extract
meaningful insights from vast datasets.With the exponential growth of data-driven industries, AI & DS
has become one of the most dynamic and in-demand fields in technology. The curriculum is designed to
develop students’ expertise in building intelligent systems, applications, and solutions that combine
analytics, visualization, and machine learning. Students gain interdisciplinary exposure to data
acquisition and analysis from diverse sources such as sensors, images, videos, satellite feeds, and
medical imagery.
The programme ultimately aims to cultivate the ability to design intelligent, adaptive, and ethical
solutions for real-world challenges in domains such as Natural Language Processing, Text Mining,
Robotics, Data Analytics, Reasoning, and Problem Solving. It explores AI methodologies across diverse
