Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics comprises of seven well-qualified faculty members with extensive academic and research experience, including three doctorates. The department is committed to imparting high-quality mathematical education to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Engineering and Technology.

Its primary objective is to equip students with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to apply mathematical concepts and techniques effectively in their respective engineering domains and excel in their professional pursuits.

The department also houses a well-equipped library with a rich collection of textbooks and reference materials, providing valuable academic support for both students and faculty members in their teaching and research endeavours.

Head of the Department

Mrs. E. Mona Visalakshidevi holds an M.Phil. in Mathematics from Meenakshi College for Women, Chennai, and an M.Sc. in Mathematics from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai. She obtained her B.Sc. in Mathematics from Queen Mary’s College, Chennai.

With over 17 years of teaching experience in engineering institutions, she is currently serving as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics at Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College, Chennai.

She is presently pursuing her Ph.D. in the field of Operations Research at Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, Avadi, Chennai. She has published five research papers in reputed journals and three papers in national and international conferences. Additionally, she has successfully completed several SWAYAM and NPTEL certification courses.

Mrs. Mona Visalakshidevi plays a significant role in student development through her active involvement as a Teacher, Proctor, Class Advisor, and Member of the Time Table Committee, while also leading the department with dedication and academic excellence.
