The NSS unit headed by a NSS programming officer of Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College is proud to have conducted Blood Donation Camps, Road Safety Awareness Programmes, Cancer Awareness Programmes, Orphanage Visits, and Green Revolution, Health Awareness Programmes and various other programs with the consent of the SecretaryAdministration – Dr.Harish.L.Metha, Secretary- Academic Sri Jaswant Munoth and the Principal Dr. K. V.Narayanan.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), a permanent student youth programme implemented in educational institutions is sponsored by both central and state government in the ratio 7:5. The overall objective of NSS is development of personality of student-youth through community service. The NSS volunteers and programme functionaries involve themselves under regular activities and special camping programmes in order to achieve the objective of the scheme.
- Understand the community in which they work
- Understand themselves in relation to their community
- Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
- Develop among them a sense of social and civic responsibility
- Utilize their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
- Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities
- Gain skills in mobilising community participation
- Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
- Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
- Practice national integration and social harmony
One NSS Unit consists of 100 student volunteer guided by one Programme Officer who will be a faculty member. The Programme Officer is expected to motivate the student youth to understand the values and philosophy of NSS. The overall functions of Programme Officer are to help the students to plan, implement and evaluate the activities of NSS under his/her charge and give proper guidance and directions to the student volunteers.

YOUTH represent a substantial part of the membership of Red Cross for its humanitarian commitment. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through Red Cross youth programme. The Youth Red Cross Unit of Our College has been designed to involve young students.
